National Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day is a great time for those many small businesses not belonging to their local Chamber of Commerce to find out more information about what goes on and the benefits of joining.
A quick internet search on a multitude of search engines such as DuckDuckGo, Bing or Google or other alternative search engines will give you leads to connecting with your local independent Chamber of Commerce. And while most local organizations pay dues to national organizations they are independent and free to support or not support different groups, organizations and ideas.
In large metropolitan areas it’s common to have many local chambers representing different constituencies. And connecting only when they have a common interest which needs to be collaborated on, otherwise having little contact with other groups.
A chamber of commerce is an organization of businesses seeking to further their collective interests.

Chamber of Commerce Day
This is a day made to order for connecting your business with the local community and with the other businesses already members of the chamber, and with local businesses not yet part of the chamber organization.
- Setup a kiosk type booth at all your businesses where customers frequent. Each booth should be under the watchful eye of an employee who can hand out pamphlets and FAQ sheets as well as answer questions about what the local chamber of commerce does along with info about joining.
- Create a traveling kiosk/booth and send it out on the road. A great goal is to have 2 employees visit every business in their area and hand out info as well as talk with the managers and owners or each business. At each stop share highlights of projects carried out by the local chamber of commerce along with info on joining.
- As an alternative or additional venues for the traveling kiosk/booth would be arranging to visit local high school business classes and local community college business classes. This can be an exciting opportunity to introduce not only the chamber but also to introduce your business and it’s community involvement to group of eager young business owners and managers.
